Supply Chain-Introduction

Good Morning All,
This subject has been touched briefly in other posts on logistics.As indicated earlier in some academic quarters supply chain and logistics are termed as "synonymous".Supply Chain in simple terms is a chain of organizations/departments,information and financial flows in an organizations right from raw materials supply to an item reaching end consumer,and the reverse side of it especially where recycling is an option.This means supply chain manage and link procurement,logistics,Warehousing and physical distribution.In some large manufacturing organizations,supply chain also get involved in production since there will be movement of materials and work in progress from one production shop to another.
In this section we shall be discussing on the effective organization of supply chain,efficient systems of linkages in supply chain and how to make supply chain as a profit center for the organizations.You are invited to contribute and comment.
