2nd Step in Procurement Process

Today we shall write about the second step in the procurement process,This step is done by the procurement team.Once the need has been agreed upon within the user department,the same is transmitted to procurement team.The procurement team must review the need to ascertain budget availability,specifications,whether it is urgent or not in order to determine the buying method,align with inventory/team to ascertain stocking type and whether is available in stock,review supplier database to determine potential suppliers list and last but no least set savings targets for this new purchase if it is a repetitive need.Depending on company procurement procedures and processes,the procurement department shall ask user department to submit a formal purchase requisitions for further processing.In most organized companies,there will a procurement plan.Hence all procurement activities shall me mapped in this plan and procurement department shall be checking each need request against the plan.However existence of procurement doesnt stop procurement from attending to emergencies and unforeseen needs.
